Resin Cartridges | |
CharacteristicsResin cartridges are used to anchor bolts to the surrounding strata. They provide strong, permanent ground support by unifying the resin, bolt and strata layers and acting as a reinforcement which anchors the individual stratified layers of rock into a single high strength beam. Resin permits a load distribution over the entire resin grouted area, thus avoiding concentrated stress.
DSI offers several types of resin cartridges: FASLOC ® Resin CartridgeFASLOC ® Resin Cartridges are two-compartment polyester resin cartridges containing resin and a catalyst. A film barrier of heat sealed polyester film prevents migration between the resin and the catalyst to provide optimum shelf life. FASLOC ® is thixotropic and fast setting. This reduces viscosity during insertion of the bolt and permits relatively low installation force and torque. The results are fast installation, rapid achievement of full strength, and a minimum tendency for ungelled resin to drip from the holes during installation. Duo Speed Resin CartridgeIn contrast to conventional systems consisting of separate cartridges, DSI now also offers fast and slow resins in one convenient cartridge, simplifying inventory, reducing material to be transported underground, and reducing bolting cycle times. These new resins have been designed and developed by DSI to further maximize load transfer at the bolt rock interface by improving the frictional fit rather than solely seeking high compressive values in the cured resin. Ground Lok H2O Resin CartridgeThe Ground Lok H2O Resin Cartridge contains quality polyester resin grout and catalyst. When mixed and cured, the resin achieves a stronger compressive strength than the surrounding rock. The Ground Lok H2O Resin Cartridge is available in customized diameters and strengths. Ground Lok H2O Resin Cartridges are completely resistant to acids and alkalis between pH2 and pH 10. They have proven performance in permafrost and are heat resistant up to 100°C. | |
